Every September, a local bike advocacy group puts on a bike commute challenge, where different companies/organizations can have their employees sign up and log their commutes for the month, and the company/organization with the highest commute rate and number of miles ridden win something.

Apparently last year, they found some guy who was doing exactly this - loading his bike on top of his car, driving 90% of the way to work, then riding his bike the last mile or so, and then logging his whole trip :)
