Thanks Macfred. This bike probably has Tektro time-trial brake levers with the barrels ground down to fit into the 22.2mm handlebar. Since then we’ve sourced a large quantity of Dia-Compe reverse brake levers that fit city bike handlebars properly.

The stuurpen shifter looks great though it’s not especially handy to use or remember which direction to turn. It unfortunately also cannot be combined with a front child seat. We’ve also tried the Alfine shifter but it’s just not a good fit on our handlebars and sticks way out making it to vulnerable. Next time we do this we’ll probably put the twist shifter on a short piece of a mountain bike handlebar end clamped somewhere convenient and out of the way.

I’ve heard of the Jtek shifter thing but never seen it.
